Air Duct Assembly Machine
This machine snaps together two plastic components to form an air duct. The snapped areas are inspected for correct assembly by 5 Keyence IX image based laser sensors. Presence of foam components are verified by a Keyence IV3 vision sensor. The second process is the application of a foam gasket. The gasket is loaded into a groove with the adhesive side pointing up. The plastic assembly is pressed against the gasket and then seated by pusher cylinders.

Part is set on a rack for cooling. The robot completes the operation by using a laser for detecting edges of a bag rack pocket and then placing the part.
